Course Outline
The aim of this course is to analyze the basic concepts of Industrial Organization. Industrial Organization studies the market functioning and business behavior especially in an oligopolistic environment where there is strategic interaction between the firms in the market. The strategic choice of one firm affects the profits of the other. Pricing decisions, collusion, product differentiation, vertical relations are some examples of strategic decisions applied also in practice. Such decisions affect the market structure and profits, and in some cases, anticompetitive issues may arise.
