Course Outline
The course examines the importance of work structures in shaping the social structure of modern societies. The teaching themes are as follows:
- a) Representative theoretical views and debates on the organization of work and its relationship to the structures of social order.
- b) The evolution of the division of labor at the end of the 20th century and in the first two decades of the 21st century.
- c) Empirical realities regarding employment and unemployment over the last three decades on a global scale (in selected countries).
- d) Different policy interventions for employment and combating unemployment.
- e) Alternative possibilities for enhancing employment and drastically reducing unemployment.
