Course Outline
The subject of Physical Education in Primary I, from Primary Education Degree at University of Murcia has as its main objective to analyze the background and evolution of Physical Education, as well as its curricular development in current legislation. The purpose of the area of Physical Education is to prepare students to adopt an active lifestyle, know their physicality,approach cultural manifestations of a motor nature, integrate eco-socially responsible attitudes and develop decision-making processes in motor situations. This subject allows to know the characteristics of Physical Education and its functionality in the school context, being the starting point to acquire the necessary skills to teach the subject effectively. The development of competences will depend on the teacher's approach, which must focus on motor practice with methodological guidelines that provide meaning to the activities, through productive styles that foster a suitable context for the creative development, autonomy and initiative of the student, using the motor context as a means.
Furthermore, this subject directly links to the Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 5 (Gender Equality), promoting healthy lifestyles, inclusive education, and equal opportunities for all students in the context of physical education.
